Turning 20
This year, Remedy celebrates 20 years of great clients, dedicated staff, award-winning work and—most of all—the opportunity to make the world a healthier place. It’s an occasion that prompted Remedy president, Carol McCarthy, and chief creative officer, Deanna Stallsmith to reflect back on branding in the health space. More |

Combating childhood obesity
Remedy is back in action with CLOCC, battling obesity in Chicago’s kids by promoting healthy and active lifestyles. This time, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois and the City of Chicago are funding the campaign, reaching across Chicago’s most at-risk neighborhoods. Bold graphics and light-hearted messaging communicate the serious matter of keeping kids healthy in a way that appeals to adults’ sense of fun. The campaign appears where parents are ready to receive messages about their children—like schools, libraries, YMCAs, and on city buses and trains that get them there. SEE THE CAMPAIGN While you’re at it, you should check out some more great stuff—our recent work for Cardiva Medical, Swedish Covenant Hospital, and a campaign we developed to raise awareness of prescription drug abuse. |

Our name in Print
Remedy was recognized in the 2009 edition of Creativity & Commerce, Print magazine’s annual review of the best business-related design from around the world. What captured the judges’ attention? The public awareness campaign we developed to prevent prescription drug abuse in teens—Not in My House. This marks the third time in four years Remedy’s work has been praised by this prestigious design publication. Thanks to our clients for the opportunity to do such great work. |

Head of the class
Associate design director David Sieren has a near obsessive love of typography. He owns a 19th century letterpress, jokes about serif fonts, and will vehemently debate the merits of a particular typeface. So, it’s no wonder he’s joined the adjunct faculty of the Chicago Portfolio School, teaching post-grads how typography can be used to communicate mood, emotion, and personality. |

“Remetots”
We gained two new Remedites last quarter—and so far, they’re sleepin’ on the job. Project managers Nina Elliot and Jessica Daly each welcomed their first child within a week of each other. Nina and her husband, Sean, are spoiling the nonsense out of Sam Scott, born August 30. Jessica and her husband, Chris, are doting on Cole Catherine, born September 5. BACK TO TOP |
